New Website
Caleb and I have a new website.
Check it out!

I'll probably keep blogging here, but lately most of my writing energy has gone to end of semester papers. First semester of graduate school is almost done.
Over break I'll be studying for the GRE, because I want to apply for a dual degree in Urban Planning. I'm still feeling mixed about it. Will I ever really know what I want to do when I grow up?

I'm trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up, i.e., when I get out of the Marines in a year. I'm looking at grad programs at U of M - Twin Cities, as Lynnae is happy staying there. Just need to figure out what I want to study... suggestions welcome :)
I haven't really thought about academia, but it's certainly a possibility. I don't know if I could cross from an undergrad in science into an MA in humanities - do MA programs require undergrad experience/knowledge in the field? Right now I'm looking more closely at the MS in Astrophysics. But I need to contact the U to ensure I could get in-state tuition; that could be a stumbling block.
As far as eventual work, I could probably use my experience in military communications to transition into a job in the civilian comm industry. If nothing else I can always fall back on being a physics/math teacher and cross country coach. However, my habit of constant casual profanity, which is endemic among Marines, might be an issue.
Good luck with the GRE - it wasn't that hard, it just seemed like there was never enough time. I didn't finish all the sections, and the ones I did I remember feeling rushed toward the end.
